2021 Wellness Summit

Hosted by Bridgeway Inc. and Carl Sandburg College, the Discover Wellness Summit will be held on September 24, 2021 at Carl Sandburg College from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm and is free to the community. Wellness, whether it be mental, physical, or spiritual, has become an important focus of individuals and organizations over the past several years. We want to come together as a community to promote wellness with keynote speakers, break-out workshops and a health fair.

Two world-renowned keynote speakers will highlight the Summit. Ben Nemtin is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of What Do You Want to Do Before You Die? He was also the star of MTV’s highest rated show ever on iTunes and Amazon called, The Buried Life. As the co-founder of The Buried Life movement, Ben’s message of radical possibility has been featured on The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, FOX, and NBC News. President Obama called Ben and The Buried Life “inspiration for a new generation” and Oprah declared their mission “truly inspiring.”

No. 1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Writer, and Host of Free Cookies Podcast Kate Fagan is an Emmy-award winning journalist and the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of WHAT MADE MADDY RUN, as well as the coming-of-age memoir THE REAPPEARING ACT. Her third book, ALL THE COLORS CAME OUT, was released in May 2021 from Little, Brown. She currently writes for Sports Illustrated, and previously spent seven years as a columnist and feature writer for espnW, ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. She was also a regular panelist on ESPN's Around the Horn and host of Outside the Lines.

Workshop topics at the day long Summit will include mental health, substance use, medical, holistic, and a variety of other topics. Workshops will be an opportunity for the community to choose how they define their wellness and offer them new ideas and skills to try.
