Creative Childhood Center

Creative Childhood Center is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Child Care Agency and is designed to offer children ages 2 through age 12 a safe and nurturing environment which encourages and stimulates the development of the child's emotional, social, intellectual and physical skills through planned activities and organized play.

Creative Childhood Center is funded in part by contributions from the United Way of Knox County, which allows the Center to provide financial assistance to families who qualify. The Childcare program at Creative Childhood Center is designed to help children grow, creatively, physically, socially, emotionally and mentally, by offering a wide variety of experiences in Language Developement, Health, Math, Science, and Music.

The Creative Childhood Center maintains an experienced and well-trained staff. Each staff person is required to participate in 15 hours of in-service training per year. The director, Tammy Froelich, has an A.S. in Early Childhood and has been with the Center since 1983.

Creative Childhood Center Hours: 6am to 6 pm Monday-Friday (minimum attendance is two days a week, before and after school care is available). We are closed eight days a year: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We also offer a "drop-in" service for parents that need childcare, but do not want to make a long term commitment to a program. Parents are required to fill out a few simple forms, submit the child's physical and pay the registration fee. Afterwards, the parent may call the center to confirm a "drop-in" opening at any time.
