BASIC DUTIES

Provide personal care for assigned consumers; interact with individuals in a way that will enhance their self-esteem, self-awareness and thier decision-making ability; complete necessary documentation; interact appropriately with families, significant others, or other agencies.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in human services preferred.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Ability to understand emotional and social needs of persons with disabilities; ability to understand the concepts of normalization and individualization; ability to interact effectively with adults and children with disabilities; good interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to work flexible hours.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and be insurable.  Also must complete and maintain compliance with all applicable training standards.  *Employment is conditional upon passing background checks

POSITION STATUS:  Full & Part-Time, Non-Exempt

SALARY:  $8.00 - $9.60 PER HOUR
