Bridgeway Leaders Present at National Mental Health Corporations of America Conference
In March, Stacy Brown, Bridgeway’s Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, and President and CEO, Bill Nelson presented at the Mental Health Corporations of America winter conference in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Stacy and Bill were among four other organizations presenting for the conference’s Innovations Expo session with over 100 individuals in attendance representing mental health organizations across the country. The title of their presentation was, “Empowering your Community-Building a Recovery Oriented System of Care." The presentation highlighted the excellent work produced by Bridgeway’s ROSC in Fulton, Henderson, Henry, Knox, McDonough and Warren counties.
Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) is a coordinated network of community-based services and supports that is person-centered and builds on the strengths and resilience of individuals, families, and communities to achieve abstinence and improved health, wellness, and quality of life for those with or at risk of alcohol and drug problems.
The ROSC Council identifies and addresses the needs of the recovery community and promotes infrastructure development, training and education, involvement of individuals with lived experience, and creating an integration of systems through local hospitals, mental health, law enforcement, local governments and policy makers. The ROSC Council informs, educates and empowers individuals and communities by expanding access to a comprehensive array of prevention, treatment and peer recovery support service options.
