At Bridgeway, we take pride in helping people transform their lives and begin new and exciting chapters to their stories. Each person who enters the door matters to us. Bridgeway embraces creating opportunities for people with disabilities, and we believe that all people have the right to enjoy the same full range of life experiences. We believe that each person who desires to live, learn and work in their community can do so and have a full and meaningful life.
Our Developmental and Intellectual Disability Services focus on the primary life areas of living, learning and working and we provide a full range of services in multiple service sites in west central and northern Illinois.
Bridgeway’s Community Day Services strive to fulfill whatever is needed to allow the individual the freedom of greater independence, self-sufficiency, greater choice and control of their lives, and increased participation in the community. Flexibility is the key to creating a program to fit the person. Expected results from these services may include increased inclusion in the community, increased or maintained ability to perform activities of daily living, and increased self-direction, self-determination, self-reliance and self-esteem. For many, their lives are transformed.
Our Community Day and Adult Learning Services serve individuals with developmental, physical and/or intellectual disabilities who are 18 years of age and older. Curricula range from teaching basic skills for independent living, such as health and safety, cooking, and navigating within the community, to more advanced skills needed to find and maintain a job, manage personal finances, and achieve self-reliance.
